Could you give us the full source zip (including all libraries) of your project. Peter martin’s blog has problems with the included files and it’s very difficult to find consistant fileset.

Hi there

ive been trying in vain to get this up and running but havnt had much luck with locating a copy of Peter Martins example

does anyone know where to get it? having issue getting flexunit to close and how to write a custom logger for it

This is just a comment for people looking for alternatives or improvements on this method.

We implemented the JUnitTestRunner and Ant tasks shown here for our continuous integration server (currently using CruiseControl), and it was working decently well. However, we had some issues with handling the socket, and we also didn’t want to use Ant only for this one testing/reporting need and not for anything else.

One alternative is to simply set up the debug log in the Flash player on launch (using mm.cfg in your home directory and setting up trace logging and error reporting as shown here: http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/201/html/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=LiveDocs_Book_Parts&file=logging_125_04.html ). You can still use an XML report format as in JUnitTestRunner, but replace the socket writes with simple trace() calls. Then you can easily grab the XML from the log file after the tests are complete, and even include all trace output as an artifact/attachment to the build in your CI.

We believe this is a much more reliable and straightforward way to get the test results out of flash, and does away with the need for a socket server. Hope it helps someone else.

Hi there,

first of all thx for that great article, but unfortunately I am not really familiar with ant and some lines of code are missing. I found out which classes to import, but not the params the FlexUnitLauncher has to pass. Does this also have effects to the flexunit ant call? Maybe you could offer the modified FlexAntTasks with ant flexunit ant example? Thanks for your help.
