Comments on: Flex acceptance testing and continuous integration

I have an Application under testing
It is a web application but built all with flex

So Selenium IDE is not recording those object
Hence when searching i came to this site, but from this page whether my understanding is correct, like we need to build some selenium flex support api or SWC file in the code of application under test or we need to build the application under test with the selenium support files. Is it true? in this case has already my application is gone to client hands , our developers wll not do this build

So in this case without touching any thing in source code or building application time, whether only by using selenium with any flex support which i can add it over test file whether we can test the flex support application

Hi,
I want to automate my flex application using SeleniumFlexAPI but i am not able to capture the flex object.

Below i will give the steps what i did,

1. Downloaded SeleniumFlexAPI and added SeleniumFlexAPI.swc file into the libs folder of my Flex project and i changed the Additional compiler argument as -include-libraries “libs\SeleniumFlexAPI.swc”.

2. I attached the user-extension.js file in my Selenium IDE.

Thanks for this tutorial Julia. I was wondering if there has been any update on flex support for the data grid and combo box objects (I have sfapi 0.2.6)?

From what I gather it’s known that these tests fail in your selben example, unless something in my set up is wrong?

Any help much appreciated.

I am facing issue while fetching the flex data grid item. I am not been able to retrive the data inside the flex data grid. If any one of you have implemented it in your application can you please guide me how to do this. I am able to retrive all the property of the data grid using Flash seleneium API methods.
Please guide me its really urgent

@Akbar – Did you get your issue resolved? Have you already tried FlexMonkey for this i.e. capture the actions, component properties and verifications in flexmonkey and export its actionscript to your xUnit framework?

Hi Julia,

I have been stuck at this problem real bad. I use a repeater component with id say “x” and it has 2 components which would be repeated with ids say “y” and “z”. Now if the repeater runs multiple times i am not able to test these multiple instances of components coz they have just one id. Could you please help me out with this prb.
